Init Rough Game Demo Evaluation Rubric
Remember:
this
is the first time the team put all of the prototyped ideas together in a single
program. This is not meant to be a game, rather, this should demonstrate
the functionality of the game logic, that user can control game object, and
game object can interact in ways that follow game logic.
Specifically
not required to include: no
need for fancy audio, art, no need to any level
The following are suggested criteria to consider
when evaluating the presentations. Since most of the criteria are subjective,
it is reasonable for you to apply your own rules (please do share yours if you
care). You are only responsible for entering a number for each category.
·
Working
game framework:

1 |
All stand-in geometry in the
game: No need for audio/arts No need for more than one level |
All
important geometries are in the game, and the geometries can interact
reasonably. |
Most
important geometries are in the game, and interesting interactions can be
observed. |
Most
important geometries are in the game, little interaction can be observed. |
Some
important geometry is in the game, little interaction can be observed. |
Little
geometry is in the game, almost no interaction between game objects. |
·
Complete
game logic:

Regarding: winning, loosing,
power-ups etc. |
All
game state updates accordingly |
Most
of the game states are updated correctly |
Some
of the game states are updated |
Little
of the game states are updated |
None
of the game states are updated |
·
Working
user control:
|
5 |
4 |
3 |
2 |
1 |
User
has control over all the game elements as in the final game. |
User
has control over most of the game elements as in the final game. |
User
has control over some of the game elements as in the final game. |
User
has control over a little of the game elements as in the final game. |
User
has no control over any of the game elements as in the final game. |
·
Confidence
in meeting deadline:
|
5 |
4 |
3 |
2 |
1 |
Based on the demonstrated game
framework solutions |
Very
sure that the team can complete their game as proposed |
Somewhat
sure that the team can complete their game as proposed |
The
team may be able to complete their game as proposed. |
The
demo does not provide confidence that the team can meet the deadline. |
It
is very clear that the team will not be able to meet the demanding deadline. |
·
Presentation
is done well:
|
5 |
4 |
3 |
2 |
1 |
Clear/precise demo |
Clear
and to the point demo of important aspects of the game, control, and geometry
interactions. |
Pointed
out important aspects of the game, control, and geometry interactions. |
Showed
functioning demo of game, showed some controls, and geometry interactions. |
Showed
some controls and geometry interaction, unclear how relate to the game. |
Showed
a program that resembles a game. |
Well organized demo |
Efficient
use of demo time, all team members know their parts and participated in
presentation |
Efficient
use of demo time, only some team members spoke |
Most
of the demo went well, most team members participated in presenting |
Some
of the demo went well, only some team members participated in presenting |
Horrible
use of time (e.g., cannot find executable, cannot find demo programs), team
members seem do not belong on stage. |
